Bhakti Schools of Vedanta, by Swami Tapasyananda

Bhakti Schools of Vedanta

Bhakti is devotion-based worship, which gets a bad name among hardcore intellectuals. This book presents the lives and philosophies of Ramanuja, Nimbarka, Madhva, Vallabha and Caitanya, all bhakti thinkers. The book was written to show that other teachers besides Shankara have equal status as teachers of Vedanta.

Swamiji (Swami Vivekananda), told, Knowledge without devotion is dry, Devotion without knowledge is blind.
True, the above book shall make the reader float into knowledgeful devotion, for it was written by a great scholar monk of the Ramakrishna Order, he was one of the senior most vice president of the Order who spent most of time in the Chennai (Madras) centre of the Ramakrishna Math and Mission.
Thakur Sree Ramakrishna used to remind the devotees to pray and to work for the ‘Suddha Bhakti’ (Pure Devotion) for that is the only route to live a life in enlightened mode.Otherwise, the life becomes only full of questions and confusions !The Divinity is the INSIDE STORY for All of us,
we can get the support to become more ‘aware’ of this divinity ,reading the above book.
