Vedanta: A Simple Introduction, by Pravrajika Vrajaprana

Vedanta: A Simple Introduction

The most common question we get is a simple one: What is Vedanta?

We can pretty easily explain Vedanta. But the second question has thrown American Vedanta for years: What’s a good introductory book on Vedanta?

For many years, we did not have a good answer. But then one day we talked with a monk who ran the bookstore at the Ramakrishna Mission monastery in Delhi, India. He suggested Vedanta: A Simple Introduction. He was right.

Vedanta: A Simple Introduction is short and to the point; it is only 60 pages, and we read the whole book in a single night while getting ready for bed. Yet, it is clear and covers the basics well.

We’ve finally found our book when people ask for an introduction to Vedanta. This is the book; we recommend that you read this if you’re new to Vedanta and want to understand it without too much jargon, unnecessary cultural baggage or abstruse philosophy.

Highly recommended.
